Measure the trunk diameter of the fruit and ornamental trees first to add 200 grams per 2.5cm of trunk diameter around the stem before watering. For pre-planting applications in fruit trees, 10-20 Kilograms is needed to be added into 12 square meter area. (Common plant spacing for the majority of the fruit plants)

For Field Crops:

For established Soils:

For zero-till or established perennial crops, top dressing with 3-4 tons/hectare will be highly beneficial.

For Crops Cultivation:

To reduce soil acidity in crops like Wheat, Maize, Oats, Legumes, Beans, Cassava, and Millets adding 15 tons/hectare and even mixing it into the soil using a Rototiller would prove highly advantageous for lowering soil pH, crop yields, general health, and Magnesium deficiencies in the top 15cm of farming soil.

The precise Dolomite Lime applications for farming can only be determined after conducting a lime requirement test through analysing the soil samples using the SMP Buffer method that is highly recommended to proceed with any of the soil amendments before planting. The results on both the soil pH and deficiencies may take 1 year to take effect due to the slow mode of action whereas the repeated applications are suggested after every 3 years to replenish soil Magnesium deficiencies. Generally, 3-4 tons per hectare per year or 15 tones/ hectare after 3 years is the justified application rate of Dolomite Lime that the research work proves.
